The Anti-Corruption Commission has launched an investigation into the source of income of Mohammad Sohel Rana, the detained owner of Rana Plaza that collapsed on Wednesday leaving over 375 people dead and several hundreds injured.

Home Minister Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir visited the site on the day the building caved in and said it had not been approved by the authorities.

Savar Municipality Deputy Assistant Engineer, however, said the nine-storey building had permission for six floors.
